Prima BAP October

This month I adjusted the sketch so I could fit three photos instead of one. I used the Alla Prima range which is so good with beach photos. Lots of embellishments later here is the finished layout.

Some close ups - just love the mini bottle!

Scottie Crafts Pink Paislee and Tattered Angels Inspiration

A couple of months ago I bought the Pink Paislee Mistables collection and had not used it until last week when I received a few bottles of Glimmer mist and a bottle of glimmer glam for my Scottie Crafts DT kit.

My first layout I did I used all my green Distress stains over each line in the diagonal pattern - I love the vibrant look it gives to the page. I have used a Scrapware frame which is inked black for contrast.  The journal spots and the alphas also have a resist effect on them and the fuzzy stickers take the true colour of the stain. The flourish on the page is cut using a Cheery Lynn design die.

For my second layout I sprayed the paper and binding ribbon with the following colour glimmer mists :  Denim Blue, Mels diner, pink bubbles and Key lime pie.  The flowers are sprayed with Mels Diner and Pink Bubbles - these are the Pink Paislee fuzzy stickers. The journal spot and alphas are sprayed with Pink Bubble glimmermist.  I have also painted the background with white gesso. Add some brads, Tim Holtz embellishments and a Zva Creative Flourish and you have a finished layout.

I decided to go for the more grungy look in this next layout. The pattern on the pink Paislee Paper was just crying out for some brown ink! I covered the paper with Vintage Photo and Walnut stain Distress stains and then wiped the excess off on the resist areas. Then I painted Hammered Copper Glimmer Glam over the top. Once this was dry I painted an area with white gesso - some of the ink came through so the gesso is an off white colour.  The papers used are from an old book and Tim Holtz papers and I have inked the alphas with Walnut Stain Distress stain and  Hammered Copper Glimmer Glam. The frame is a Scrapware Frame and embellishments are all Tim Holtz Idea-ology products other then the bird cage charm which was in my stash.

Well I don't normally go purple and orange but I had fun with changing my flowers  from white to purple and orange with colour washes. Love how this turned out!

Get Picky Challenge

Get Picky is having a first Birthday Blog hop and part of it is to create a layout from this sketch:

Here is my layout using older Pink Paislee papers - the kit for this layout was packed months ago for a crop but I had not created with it  so did on Sunday at a crop using the above sketch. The ink I have used in one of the limited edition seasonal inks from Tim Holtz called fallen twigs.

Now I am off to blog hop!!!

NZ Paperchase Blog Challenge for October

The challenge this month is to create a multi photo layout using the sketch and some older embellishments that have been in your scrapping stash waiting to be used! I have used some zoo buttons I have had for three or four years. The layout can be a single layout or a double layout. If you create a double layout you must use the sketch on both sides - remember though you can flip, twist and rotate the sketch as you like. Check out the challenge here you have until the end of the month to join in. Have fun creating!!

Prompt Challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge blog!

New prompt challenge is up over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge blog here is the challenge:

Scrap your school days – your own school days incorporating three of: a photo of you back in the day, or a momento from those years , perhaps: a song title, lyrics or album cover from that era, your favourite school subject, or a page from one of your texts, diaries or notebooks , a scan or your yearbook – whatever is representative of your school days. Maybe you could include a memory of those days in your blog posting. We'd prefer if you scrap your own school days - as we like to encourage our followers to scrap about themselves to leave a legacy for their family - but you can scrap your children's school days if you prefer.

Here is my take on the Challenge!

I have three photos of me - one just me, one with my brother and I and one with our awesome dog Scooby at the time.  This was my first day of school - I had a short little dress, cardboard satchel and a cold sore! My favourite subject was reading and the mini alphas are the first verse for our school song.  The monopoly money represents the monopoly games my brother and I played which I never won!!
