Week Eight SBO Contest

Its a close "race" over at the contest at SBO.  This week is all about Maori Design and we had to include weaving and /or koru in our layouts.

Here is my layout and I didn't use patterned paper!

I have used black, red and white cardstock and weaved them for the background.  I have also stamped a weave stamp on the black cardstock. The red petals on the flowers are from a Maori design ribbon and I have made the swirls to look like koru out of shell beads.  I have also used a koru stamp. I love how it has come out! Now I wonder what the mystery product for week nine is...........

Have also just found out I came first equal for week seven over at the SBO contest - yahoo! The points are really close and we should be receiving the mystery product soon for week nine.  I wonder what it will be..... I have also completed week 8 and am really pleased with the result AND it has no patterned paper...

SBO Contest this week Song Title and or Lyrics

Here is my entry for the current weeks challenge at SBO which was to include NZ song title or Lyrics on the layout. I chose to use "Message to my Girl" and have used My minds eye pages and a yummy dusty attic Chipboard frame as well as a Maya Road envelope which I hope to put a message to my girl in at some stage.

You will have to wait for the reveal of my final week of The Scrappin" Patchs contest as the deadline has been extended due to the Christchurch quake and over 360 aftershocks since then. I still can't believe it has happened in NZ even though we are on faultlines etc seems so surreal - here we are up in Auckland getting on with everyday things and Christchurch is so disrupted. Thank goodness no one was killed and my thoughts go out to everyone there and I hope it settles down soon.

Contest layouts this week

Over at SBO the weeks challenge was to do a beach layout - I have had these Websters pages in my stash that were perfect and not been used so this is what I came up with.

Well last weeks star over at Scrappin' Patch was Ronda Palazzari and this is my layout. I have been having a few rough weeks with Katie as things have changed around at school for her a lot and this has had an adverse effect on her at home and when we are out and about. So the layout is just about how I was feeling last week - yikes it has a lot of Journalling on it!

This week I have to morph into Irene Tan - another yikes I love her layouts and creations she is amazing talented and I think this will be the most challenging week of the contest! and it is the last week...
