NZ DARE 44

This fortnights dare was to use numbers - what better way then to do a birthday layout.  I have done a layout for Christopher's 2nd birthday.  I have used a provocraft chipboard number and the paper is basic grey.

Scrapbooking by Design Anzac challenges part two

Here is my take on the sketch with a twist  you had to have your ingredients which were:

1 piece of cardstock or background patterned paper
1 piece of patterned paper
 4 Xportrait photos 3.5 x 2.75
6 brads
3 embellishments (flower, chipboard disc and a flourish were my choices)
ink
any lettering you like

Then there was a list of instructions and this is what I came up with.

Scrapbook Essentials Fortnightly Sketch

Here is my layout for the fortnightly challenge.  It is of when Brendan laughed for the first time - the photos are not great so this was a good sketch to use them in.

Scrapscene Truly Trendy Competition

I found out about this competition from Nic Howard site and decided to have a go even though the entries are amazing and it is open to anyone in the world as the prize is awesome.

The competition is to do a project using current trends in scrapbooking.  The trends I have used are grunge for the Unique layout and Botanicals for the beauty layout. The Grunge look layout was using kaisercraft paper and Tim Holtz grungeboard (which I recently discovered thanks to Carol who sent me a skull piece and I got a pack for under $20 from TM).  The beauty layout is using the gorgeous Paper pesto April Kit.  I had fun doing these and very pleased how they turned out.

here is the link

The contest closes on Wednesday.

Talking about the skull grungeboard shape watch this space for my Guest designer Jack at Kiwi Jack me up and the extremely talented NZ Scrapper I chose to be Jacked at the end of the week and see how I have used the skull.

Scrapbooker's Delight blog challenge no 3

I have had a great few days scrapping and here is my creation for the challenge this week - which was to use one manufacturers products on a double layout.  I chose basic grey - various collections - blush, mellow, boxer and hang ten.

I have a few other layouts to share later in the week - one for the final Anzac weekend challenge at Scrapbooking by design (all done just need a photo) - two others I did for  an international competition and once completed scrapbook essentials fortnightly challenge.

Poor Katie has chickenpox so we are stuck at home for the rest of the school holidays.  Hopefully the kids won't get to bored.

Scrap Savvy Scraplift Challenge

Here is my take on the Scraplift over at scrap Savvy. I have used Junkitz school Days range - so bright and bold.  This is for Christophers first day at school.

I have done a bit of scrapping the last two nights and its been great the mojo is flowing!  My mum and my little sister surprised us by a visit last Friday all the way from oz.  My sister has gone back but my mum is staying with me next week so possibly no scrapping will be done as I am going to spend time with her ( haven't seen her for over a year ).

Scrapbookers Delight blog layout challenge

Here is my take on Annelies criteria which were to have one photo three patterned papers and two hand made embellishments.

I have once again used basic greys Archaic range and used three different pieces and my hand made embellishments are the dog kennel journalling tag and the heart. The alphas are Bazzil chipboard.

Aussie scrapjack April Nic Howard

Aussie Scrapjack chose New Zealands own Nic Howard to Jack this Month in honour of Anzac Day.

My take is using the Archaic Range from Basic Grey.  The chipboard pieces are so easy to use.  the papers went well with Brendans fossil hunt

NZ Scrapbook promotion evenings

NZ Scrapbook have been having a few preview promotions of their new stock and I went to two - Basic Grey Breakfast (my all time favourite breakfast - waffles with one of my favourite brands) and Fancy pants.  The layouts are what we were given to create.  We also had other things to create.

Scrapbook Essentials Fortnightly Sketch

This fortnight sketch was really fun out came the sewing machine.  and lots of embellishments.  Kaitlyn was trying to frown at her granddad but couldnt keep it up - so cute.

Scrapbox NZ April monthly sketch challenge.

This Months challenge at Scrapbox NZ was to do a double layout.  In the sketch itself the photos were bigger (two large ones) but I have used some 6 x 4 and cut them to fit with the sketch.  The sketch also had the photos going over the edge of the one side to the other which I didnt want to do.  The papers I have used are the new basic grey cupcake range which I won six pages as a spot prize at NZ Scrapbooks Basic grey preview breakfast - ooh the waffles were scrummy.

123 April monthly challenge

The criteria this month was to design and create your own embellishment - the butterflies
to stamp/print something with something other then a stamp - the dots are done with a lego blog
to have april and/ or shower/s on the layout - april calender card

This layout has hidden journalling as it is a bit personal for blogland - it is all about when we last our little girl when she was stillborn at 23 weeks almost seven years ago. April is a time when  I remember her a bit more as it was when we first thought we were going to lose her at 9 weeks.  I think of her when I watch Katie sometimes and wonder what she would have been like.

A lot of the products used are from Paper Pestos April kit which is sold out not surprised as it was gorgeous.

NZ Dare 43

Another great dare this time an ad challenge similiar to a sketch challenge.  Good for photos that could be cropped small, for photos from one event or as I have done showing the change of Kaitlyn from birth to almost four - my baby will be four next month! I have used another paper from Bisous - it was almost too beautiful to scrap

Scrapbooker's Delight blog sketch challenge

Annelie from Scrapbooker's Delight has posted a sketch challenge on their blog last night and I was inspired to create this layout.  It is using a paper from Fancy pants new range called celebration it is so pretty.  The layout is about Katie who loves talking to adults and I think she talks pretty well and other people think she does to - I have had two people ask me when she starts school! (she turns four at the end of next month)

Scrapbooking by Design Stock take Challenge

Monique challenged us to take stock of our supplies and use five of our oldest supplies on one or more layouts.  I have got rid off a lot of supplies as I have outgrown it.  With this layout I have used paper loft paper and tags, one of the first alpha sticker sets I ever got, hessian like paper, slide mounts and charms. The die cuts where freebies at a promotional evening for Fancy Pants which I went to last week (they just fitted with the layout).

Talking about the new range of fancy pants paper and products they have awesome boy and girl papers transparancies including single glittered ones, stamps, felt and lots more.  I am going to a basic grey Breakfast which is previewing their new range on the weekend cant wait.

Look out for the 1st of May when I am Guest Designer with a layout scraplifted from a Scrapbooker I picked for the Jack at Kiwi Jack Me up.

An off the page item to share

I did this canvas at MOPS which is a mothers of preschoolers group I go to (not much longer now as nearly have no preschoolers).  MOPS is a great place to go for mums with preschoolers - you do a craft and then have a speaker and discussion as well as some yummy morning tea.  I only painted and put the shells on then when I got home I did the rest and I am keeping this one so that you can see there is a scrapper in the house other then bits of stickers, gems, paper that are spread around the house at times LOL.

Paper pesto sketch challenge no 3

Paper pesto has their new sketch challenge up and you dont have to use their kits so it is open to anyone.  I have use a bit of the March kit in the layout I did and flipped the sketch and had different size photos.  I am trying to get through my hundreds of 6 X 4 photos I got printed when I started scrapping.

Scrapbook Essentials Fortnightly Sketch

Well here is my last challenge layout for March.  The sketch was very simple but of course I have embellished a bit.  The patterned paper is Bisous which is a new double sided paper line that I found at NZ scrapbook the range is called PDQ (pretty darn quick) and can either be used as a full page layout to do a quick layout or cut out like I have done (I have only used one paper).
