HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL & a scrapping year in review

I am into buttons as well now heres alayout of Kaitlyn looking cute.

I finally did a page of the boys first meetig and after I took the photo noticed I left out a word in the journalling oh well we make mistakes.

My favourite layout for today and not difficult to do using up almost the last bit of Paper Pesto December Kit and American craft chipboard letters. I couldnt think of a title and Carol gave me this one - thanks Carol.

Happy New Year Everyone and hope you all had a good Christmas. The above layouts were created at Scrapbook studio last friday where I went and met Carol and had a Mini crop there. I spent more money and now I am interested in doing albums of the size 6 X 12 as that what Carol was working on and hers is looking great and it looks like a nice quick way to do say a milestone album. But they will have to wait as I am hoping to get a cutting machine like the robocraft this year.

I have counted up my layouts I have done since I started 19 months ago and it is 205 so quite a lot. I have also done 4 mini albums and about 10 OTP items not all photographed as Iforgot to take a photo before giving them away. This is such an awesome hobby and I am really enjoying it. I have also tried out for three design teams (Scrapbook studio, NZ Scrapbook and Scrapbooker and Co) but missed out on them but the scrappers that are on these design teams are extremely talented and I love their work. I really think my style has improved in the last six months since SENZ where I won a Paper Pesto kit and I discovered online forums and Challenges and got well and truely hooked. In the next year my to do list is to do a mini album of our wedding day using Paper Pesto November Kit which I havent touched, possibly some mini milestone albums of the kids and some layouts for my BOM and also start an album for Andrew.

Oh well enough of my rambling - all the best for the new year.

SCRAP THERAPYS PART Eight

SCRAP THERAPYS PART Eight was to keep it simple a bit tricky for me as I like to fill my page! Kaitlyn loves her new teaset and my new buttons matched it perfectly..

Scrap therapy part seven - Ngaire Bartlem

SCRAP THERAPYS part seven of Scrapping with the stars was to do a layout , tag or OTP project incorporating a tree. I decided to do an OTOP Xmas Tree to match my kiwi centrepiece I did for Scrapbook by designs Cybercrop .

NZ Dare No 36

"Right – here’s the DARE - We Dare you to scrap a saying which has special meaning in your family; something future generations might look back on & smile about! It could be a quote or saying you use frequently, (or something your mother says which you have found yourself saying now!); or words someone in your family have made up which are repeated and have become a unique part of your family life, even nicknames"

Doing this almost on the last Day. this Layout is about one of my nicknames for Christopher - he is an extra cuddly little man to his parents alittle shy with others and I started calling him my cuddle bunny- he now calls me his cuddle bunny too - isnt that sweet

Scrapbooking by design monthly challenge

This is my second go at the challenge using a heidi swapp mask for the first time my girl has become a sceamer groan!!

I enjoyed doing this challenge that you had to use paint on your layout. I rolled paint on the cardstock and painted the chipboard letters to match. Other then the not great photos I am very happy how this turned out.

Jack me up dare

This was a great dare to use up some more photos that need cropping. This is Brendans second Xmas which was a bit busier then his first. Thought I would do the challenge early as school Holidays are coming up. great Challenge.

Scrap the Girls Challenge

Thought I would have a go at this challenge and did this layout - you had to use bling and butterflies. I used belle flowers for the wings and Kaisercraft Rhinestones for the body and black pen for the details. Simple but effective.

final cybercrop Challenges at scrapbooking by design

This was for Fayes Challenge - to use mixed photo sizes and have a star or stars on the layout great for photos that need cropping.
And last but not least Louises Challenge to use a title or line of a popular christmas carol as the title.
What a great cybercrop I think the last two challenges are voted by Forum members so have to wait and see. I was lucky enough to win the sketch challenge and the OTP project and getting a few layouts on Xmas done is awesome.

Scrap therapy Cybercrop 7th of december.

Scrap therapy is having a cybercrop this weekend friday the 7th click on the above blinkie to have a look see. Their December challenge is up too. Have a go.

Xmas cybercrop at scrapbooking by design

Here is my creation for Heidis OTP challenge for a centre piece for the xmas table. It is a very kiwi Xmas centre piece because I am so grateful to be a kiwi.

Here is my take for Liannes challenge to use non traditional xmas colours on a xmas layout.

Here is my take on Kellys sketch using mostly the beautiful december paper pesto kit . I won this challenge which was an added bonus.

Moniques challenge was to make a humourous card and my inspiration was the news item a couple of weeks ago that santa shouldnt be allowed to say HO HO HO what next?

What an awesome cybercrop it really got my mojo going. I have completed four of the six challenges and won a prize for my sketch take (some heidi swapp clear stamps) isnt that great nice to have some more layouts done too. Will post the other two layouts later in the week.

Scrapping with the stars part Five - Carole Janson

Well this is challenge Five and marks the halfway point. The challenge was to do a three D effect with no flowers. I have used paisleys and had fun with this it took a wile to cut the paper but it has been quite effective - I used a knife not scissors and found it much better.

My first ever layout

Thought I would share my first ever layout to celebrate 18 months of scrapping. My sister gave me a craftworks kit for my birthday and this was my first creation. Never thought I would get involved as I have in scrapbooking but I really enjoy it and have spent far to much on it but it not only gives me enjoyment but my family loves looking at my layouts I have done too.

A few layouts to share

A double layout of the boys at a drink fountain at Auckland Zoo.

Kaitlyn at Rangitoto Kindy - she sure loves water.

Kaitlyn in Napier poor baby got sunburned because her naughty mummy forgot the sunblock - tut tut.

Another double layout of Christopher at the Hamilton zoo playground.

Christophers layout with the year of the sheep theme.

I was looking at my blog and thinking I have had so many posts with challenge layouts in that I thought I need to share some non challenge layouts.

SCRAP THERAPY - Scrapping with the stars- part four

Here is my layout for Part Four of Scrapping with the stars at Scrap Therapy - see the link to the left. The Star for part four is Charmane Koch and her challenge was to use at least two patterned papers from different companies - use lace or fabric on your layout as well as having journalling and a date. Really enjoying this competition makes me try new things though I better do the next few layouts of the boys if it fits with the challenges.

Aussie scrapjack - CELESTE VERMEEND Jack

Here is my take on the CELESTE VERMEEND jack. It is a photo of Christopher after having his face painted at the opening of Albany Mall it was awesome. I have used basic grey paper recess range, american crafts thickners letters as well as scenic route letters, K and co words and a scrapkit of the madagascar movie word stickers.

Blogging along final Challenge a scraplift of Dallas Foley layout

Now I know Louise has only put up the challenge yesterday but my scrapping night is Thursday(I do scrap other times but this is my main night) and in Honour of Brendans 7th Birthday today I did a layout of him the photos fitted well with the challenge.

I used Amanda Blu paper provocraft stickers (one I put on chipboard) and Fancy pants chipboard shapes and basic grey and provocraft chipboard alphas which I painted with MM paint. Brendan thought it was cool. I cant believe it was seven years ago that we were so concerned about our not so little boy in nicu when he was born eight weeks early weighing five pounds nine ounces and look at him now doing very well at school and no effect from being a premmie. Happy Birthday Brendan.

NZ Dare 34 - Alter a Photo Digitally

Here is my take on the dare. I have altered the photo using paintnet and put on wings and feelers and then popped the wings out on the layout. I have used K and Co paper and my minds eye letters - journalling block by fancy pants. I have to have more off a play with altering photos.

Scrapbook essentails Fortnightly Challenge 13/11/2007

Here is a different type of layout a circle - this was fun and so quick - less card to cover. This was Megans challenge for the fortnight at scrapbook essentials.

Scrap Therapy scrapping with the stars part three

Here is my take on part three of Scrap Therapys scrapping with the stars challenge. The star is Rhonna Farrer and the challenge was Your Goals right now. I dont have many photos of me and did this one myself. The layout turned out very different to what I originally planned (I was going to go for a black and white theme but changed my mind).

Louises Challenge part Two -sketch

Louise has put up her sketch challenge and here is my take. I got idea straight away with this one was finished by 10pm on Thursday -my scrapping night. Its colours I dont use often so ended up been a bit different. Christopher has just started miniball this season and is loving it and the coach is just amazing - the kids listen to her so intently and she chases them around a lot.

November challenge 1,2,3 challenge

I thought I would try another challenge site - 1,2,3 challenge.
1- use no cardstock
2-writing on photo
3-hand made embellishment- my flowers on the bottom left hand drawn and cut out using basic grey blush paper and cut out circles from gin x paper.
Great challenge and i am rather pleased with the finished layout and Kaitlyns forced laugh is funny.

Jack Me Up - Andrea Senn

I loved this challenge and did it yesterday - did three pages yesterday which was great. I love the main photo in the layout yet again taken by Andrew at the zoo when as friends of the Zoo we went and saw the baby giraffe when she was first shown to the public (she is so cute). The writing and the sun shape are wooden and I found them at scrapbookers delight. I havent done a layout for a while with full patterned paper - have to do it more often quite effetive with the right piece. I have put cardstock at the back to support the wooden elements though they are light

Blogging along Challenge part One

Here is my layout for Louises challenge part one on her blog. I was lucky to be picked as the winner for the warm up challenge and got a lovely iron on bling star - thanks Louise.

With part one you had to use patterned paper you make yourself. My paper was inspired by one of my favourite outfits of kaitlyns that she is wearing in the photos. I painted the flowers and leaves and outlined and highlighted them with white and black pen. I used the paper as the backgound and pop out flowers with glitter on. I think I might try making my own paper again sometime - when I have a longer period of time to do a page that is.

NZ Dare no 8 wired dare 33 Use two colours

This is another go with just two colours for NZ dare I really like how it has come out. My colours were pink and white - a lot easier to do a layout using these colours.

Here is my layout for the challenge at NZ dares. My colours as you can see are orange and green. The kids had a great time on this day and played outside for hours.

Scrap Therapy scrapping the stars part two

I am not a great journaller but I decided I would record some of Kaitlyns conversations for part two of the challenge which is to have journaling as your focus and a splash of red on the layout. Done early as got the idea and just had to scrap.

Louise Blog warm up challenge

I have done this layout for Louise's warm up challenge on her blog. Louise is an awesome scrapper and is on the new design team at Scrapbooking by design and she has put up a 3 week challenge on her blog (blogging along) and the warm up challenge was a Black and white layout with only greyscale in the photo. Cant wait to see the next challenges Thanks Louise

Scrap therapy October challenge

I was browsing around scrap therapy forum and found the challenge for October which was scrapping about an important girl in your life - I only did this layout last week so as Kaitlyn is one of the important girls in my life I thought I would enter this layout even though it was not my intention to so when I created it. Katie looks a bit grown up with the hands in the pockets : )

Scrap Therapy scrapping with the stars round one

I found a great new competition at scrap therapy "scrapping with the stars" thanks for telling me about it Kim. It has 10 rounds .

This is my take for round one - do a black and white layout - the only colour can be in the photo. Just love this photo of Kaitlyn. Round 2 has hand written journalling as the centre stage of the layout with a touch of red. Should be interesting.... bit of a challenge for me.....

Other products used Bazzil and craftworks cardstock basic grey and cherry arte chipboard and unknown brads. this is my first jack for the Aussie scrapjack
