Hi everyone Bev here today with a mini album I created using the Fly Free Collection by Kaisercraft.
This is a great colourful collection and I decided to do a similiar
album to what I created with the Antique Bazaar Collection a few months
back. This time I can show you a simple binding technique where you
don't need a zutter or cinch just a scoreboard or a scoring tool and
ruler, cardstock and a strong double sided tape.
My
cover is from a created from box covered in brown ink and white crackle
paint. For the binding first cut out a strip of paper that is just
slightly shorter than your spine of your cover. Then cut its width so it
is two inches wider then the spine. Create two vertical score lines
along this strip of card so that the middle section is just a little
narrower than the width of the spine and the "flaps" are equal in size.
Then make further strips so that they are smaller on the width of the
spine but the flaps are the same size as the first strip flaps. Put
double sided tape on both sides of the flaps but don't take the backing
paper off. Place double sided tape along the back of the spine side of
the strips. The bigger the flaps the more secure your album will be
(mine are a little too small !).
Take the backing paper off the back of the strips and adhere together like so:
If
you have a six by eight inch book you can use the following
measurements. Create your cardstock pages by cutting eight pieces of
card 5 inches wide and 12 inches long. Create a scoreline at six inches
and fold in half. Here is an non folded but decorated page showing the
score line. It is easier to decorate after the book is assembled!
Once
each page is folded insert a flap with backing tape removed in the open
side of the page so each inner side of page is against the flap. Hope
that makes sense - once you create a mini using this binding system it
is easy to recreate it.
Here is my cover and a close up of the cover:
These are the album pages which just need photos and journalling:
Hope
you enjoyed viewing my album today. This is my last project as a Design
Team member at Artfull Crafts as life has got too busy for me and just
don't have a lot of time to do crafting. I am still crafting but just
when I can and to create with my stockpile of stuff accumulated and
unused over the last nine years! Thank you so much Liz! The Design team kits have been so
amazing I have have not done a dent in my stash and have had no time to
create more then one other layout a month for my other DT commitment which is also now over. I have been on a health journey the since Christmas 2014 and it has taken up a lot more time then anticipated but the rewards are awesome!

Botanica Layout part two
Just sharing a layout using the
Botanica Collection by Kaisercraft available at Artfull Crafts. This time I have used the softer colours.
I layered some strips of paper then just layered the collectables, doilies and flowers. With this layout I decided not to use sprays and texture paste and have a "cleaner" look which has made the photos stand out a bit more. A circle photo also softens a layout when layered with a paper doily. The little bird house is a Prima resin embellishment.
Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Fly Free Layouts
Today I am sharing two layouts Using the
Fly Free Collection by Kaisercraft available at Artfull Crafts. This is a quite bright collection
which is great for girly or tropical photos.
My first layout is of my daughter - she had her afternoon nap and fell asleep with her stockings on her head! The Fly free collection was perfect for these photos because it matched the bright sheets on my daughters bed. The background has been created using a Heidi swapp mask and Colour Shine spray.
The word pretty is also by Heidi Swapp. The flowers used are by Petaloo.
With my next layout I used various colour sprays that matched the collection to create my background. The drips were created by holding the paper vertically for a little while while the sprays were still wet. As you can see by adding the Frangipani flower this collection can definitely be used for your tropical getaway photos. Thinking a getaway would be rather nice while I am posting with thunder and lightning going on a dreary looking day!
I am hoping to get a mini album done with this collection before the end of the month. Thanks for visiting the blog today.

Botanica Collection by Kaisercraft
Today sharing not one but two layouts created for Artfull Crafts using the
Botanica Collection by Kaisercraft. This is a lovely collection of
yellow, greens and a touch of lilac. It would be great to use for photos
of places like Botanical Gardens.
My first layout is a boy layout which I have not used a lot of the collection but it does show its versatility. With my background I have used a memory box sunray stencil and texture paste along with green and gold colour sprays. I have also stamped a prima texture stamp randomly using brown ink. I have used a chevron punch both the positive and negative of the punch. The bench is a Dusty Attic chipboard piece that is been in my stash for years! I have fussy cut some of the leaves of one of the papers and used some collectables from the collection too.
My next layout is a more girly one with my daughter featuring on it. This is using the softer colours in the collection and is quite different to the previous layout. My background has been created using a feather stencil from the Crafters Workshop and a colour spray which I have also done a splatter effect. The paper embellishments are the collectables in the Botanica collection. Also used on this layout are Prima fairies, a Prima mushroom , Prima fairy fabric tape and some wood veneers aong with flowers, a doily and some bling.
So two very different layouts from one collection. Thanks for visiting my blog today!
