Chrstmas Inspiration and contests

My contribution to the build Up to Christmas at Sketchbook this week was Christmas ornaments made from ring boxes and a gift box - I got the idea from my sister who saw something similiar in a magazine using matchboxes.

After I had put these up at Sketchbook - Scrapbook Outlet announced part four of their contest so I decided to use a couple of the lids from the boxes to create these as my entry

p1080624

Scrapbox contest week three was to create a table ornament and I created a little mini lolly holder out of kiti bags. Had some fun glueing things onto the kiti bags NOT.

Scrappin' patch is about to do their round one reveal of the NIC HOWARD layouts so will be able to share mine soon - new round was announced today before lunch which is toscrap in the style of Mou Saha - which when I first saw it I thought it would be a bit tricky but was inspired and have created mine and it was uploaded this afternoon (you won't see this until two weeks time).

My weekend getaway

Well a 26 hour getaway... Tracey from Scrapbook Dreams forum came up with an idea to have a real life get together last weekend at a beach house (a rather large beach house). Due to other members commitments there were just three of us there - Tracey, Kirsten and myself (and their families). I had a great time and it was great to have a break from everyday life. It was great to meet Tracey and Kirsten - I was a bit nervous as I'm quite reserved but with the wonderful company and common interest it was nothing to be worried about - Thanks Ladies. Well I packed 10 page kits up to do various challenges and managed to complete 9,and almost complete one. I finished the 10th one today but won't be able to share just yet. The Scrapjacked layout from the previous post was one of them. One other I can't share just yet as have to ask someones permission to put on my blog as they are in the photos. ( I thought I had done 11 but miscounted)

Here are the others (as this is a long post I won't be putting my ingredients down -if you have any queries just ask in a comment and I will get back to you):

A Productive Friday

I had a long day yesterday - awake at 6am and back to bed 4am today but is was very productive. Kaitlyn had four hours of kindy and then had lunch and slept for almost two. They have been having 'Olympics practice" at kindy for their Olympics the next two weeks and she was a bit worn out. So I had the morning to clean house , catch up with the washing finally and did a layout in the morning and while she was asleep did another (see two previous posts) and caught up with blogland. We then had the normal pick up from school , dinner and getting the kids to bed. I then had another four hours to do some scrapping (layouts later). We then woke the kids up and watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics and had a midnight feast of chicken nibbles, chips and other goodies including a batch of peanut brownies baked at 2:30am - something different and a bit of fun.

I have been beavering away at some layouts two the last couple of days and four in the last couple of hours well the kids have been drawing.

Next up is a layout for Scrapbook dreams weekly sketch - you had to use a least one rubon.

The next four I did today.

This layout is for Stampin Scrap sketch for the week - I flipped and rotated the sketch this time.

This layout below is for Scrapbooking by Design's July sketch - I love how it has turned out - I bought these papers to do part six of their contest but didn't use them.

Next up is a layout for Scrapbox NZ sketch challenge for July - Katie doesn't look like she is enjoying that fluffy.

Lastly the next layout is for Scrappin Patch's fortnightly sketch which will be based on votes by readers of their blog and finishes tonight at midnight.

Some enabling for you Scrapbox NZ is having a 30% sale on everything until the end of July.  Their Bazzil cardstock is only 0.69 cents per sheet - needless to say 74 pieces found my trolley

One Sketch - two layouts

Well Scrapbox NZ and Paper Pesto had the same sketch for interpretation this month so I decided to do them one after the other the top one is for Scrapbox and uses some Basic Grey Figgy pudding range papers and the second for Paper Pesto uses their Kits mainly including their very first kit. They are a bit different from the sketch but I have taken the paper blocks idea and put them on both.

Scrapbox NZ April monthly sketch challenge.

This Months challenge at Scrapbox NZ was to do a double layout.  In the sketch itself the photos were bigger (two large ones) but I have used some 6 x 4 and cut them to fit with the sketch.  The sketch also had the photos going over the edge of the one side to the other which I didnt want to do.  The papers I have used are the new basic grey cupcake range which I won six pages as a spot prize at NZ Scrapbooks Basic grey preview breakfast - ooh the waffles were scrummy.

Scrapbox NZ monthly sketch challenge.

I have been busy as you can see from the last few posts. I really wanted to use some of the goodies from my new paper pesto kit so used them for this challenge.  You don't have to just do Love layouts with this kit its very versatile.
I will upload some 12X6 layouts tomorrow that I did tonight -they are so quick to do (I did four!).  I did them for a challenge that Kelly set up as a spin off for Moniques recycle challenges she set up for the weekend over at Scrapbooking By design.  I don't know if I will have the time to do the others but I have set one up myself. Go check it out via my link on the right and you could get a RAK from me.
