THE SCRAPPIN" PATCH RETREAT - Part one

I had an awesome time at the retreat. It was great meeting new people including Pauline and Adrienne and catching up with others I have met before. This is going to be a long post so be warned!!

Run down of the weekend (sorry I did not take my camera):

On Thursday night I was worried I wouldn't sleep being excited and all but I managed to have a good night but was woken up by the kids before six. We took the kids to school and went and saw Andrews nana on the way to the airport who I had not seen for awhile. I met up with Jane at the airport as we were on the same flight but not sitting together. The flight was good and when we landed in Christchurch it was a warm 26 degrees.

Adrienne picked me up from the airport and along with Annelie and Heidi we set off for the retreat venue. We set up the tables and the shop with lots and lots of yummy goodies nicely spread out. Then just before six people started to arrive and not long after started spending. I also did a bit of shopping at that stage.

Then I started scrapping - my first two layouts I cant share just yet! Then Trace took me and Annelie to get some dinner and I needed some brandy for my cheesecake. I had some yummy sweet and sour pork. When we got back I had dinner and made the first bit of my cheesecake that had been requested.

I then helped Heidi with her make and take which was using glimmermist and shimmerz on chipboard and flowers. Here are the two layouts I had made prior to the retreat. The frame in the first one is painted using crackle paint and then covered in shimmerz while the second one is using embossing powders.

I stayed up until just after two scrapping and tried to go to sleep but only dozed so I gave up and sat outside with some other earlybirds. We started scrapping again just before seven.

Saturday was great I did Annelies classand as I had a big photo I could add more elements and here it is:

I did not manage to do Liz's class but hope to do it at home sometime - it is just beautiful. Thank you Liz for our talks I really needed them!

I did more scrapping, shopping and also picked out the stuff for my new kit that I am making up for Scrappin' Patch soon ! I finished making the cake which vanished at suppertime after a yummy roast dinner and Pavalova. I then did a demo with liquid pearls and foud out if you hit the table it settles the pearls better!

Here are two layouts I did prior to the retreat for the demo

Now I will share more in another post as I am off to watch House now. See you soon......
